Legal information

Terms, warranties, consumer guarantees and dispute resolution for Delifor's bespoke furniture services in Australia (VIC).

Terms of supply

These terms apply to all orders placed with Delifor for bespoke, made-to-order furniture. By placing an order you agree to our terms, pricing, and production schedules. A binding agreement is formed when we confirm your order in writing (email or invoice).

Quotes remain valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. Deposit requirements, payment milestones and lead times vary by project and will be set out in your written quote.

  • Deposit: typically 30–50% on order confirmation.
  • Lead times: advised per project and subject to material availability.
  • Changes: variations after confirmation may incur additional charges and delay delivery.

For commercial or trade enquiries, separate terms may apply.

Consumer guarantees & warranties

Under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), consumers are entitled to certain guarantees when they purchase goods. These guarantees cannot be excluded. Our express warranty is in addition to your ACL rights.

Express warranty: Delifor provides a 5-year structural warranty on workmanship for residential furniture unless otherwise stated in writing. Surface finishes and materials have warranty periods specified per item.

Exclusions: Fair wear and tear, misuse, accidents, improper installation, commercial use, and normal changes to timber or finishes are not covered.

To make a claim, contact Delifor with your order number, photos of the issue, and a description. We will assess and advise repair, replacement, or refund in accordance with ACL and warranty terms.

Minor defects may be repaired; major failures may be replaced or refunded. We aim to respond to claims within 10 business days and resolve practical remedies promptly.

Returns, cancellations and made-to-order items

Because Delifor makes many items to measure, returns are limited. We do accept returns for faulty goods as required by ACL. Change-of-mind returns are accepted only at our discretion and may incur restocking or remake fees.

Cancellations after manufacture has started may incur full or partial charges to cover materials and labour. If you are unsure, contact us before work begins.

  • Custom orders: not refundable unless faulty or as required under ACL.
  • Off-the-shelf items: may be returned within 14 days in resellable condition, subject to restocking fees.

Delivery and installation acceptance should be inspected at handover; any issues should be reported within 7 days.

Liability, dispute resolution & governing law

If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can attempt to resolve the matter. If unresolved, parties may seek mediation or proceed to courts in Victoria, Australia.
